( Irv) I talked about this dish yesterday (See Here) As predicted it was obviously mark and period & flew to £360k against an estimate of a few thousand and described as late 19th early 20thc.
On a whole the saleroom was quiet approx 20 people in attendance, online bidding was dead, the estimates on a whole were over the top for mediocre items, high reserves and many modern items wrongly described, more than half the lots went unsold as a result, but the dish saved the day I suppose. Still one of my favorite salerooms where a bargain can always be had. Lee Young again succeeded in putting a decent sale together.
